These images came to fruition through exploring layers and opacity in my ‘Multiple Images’ project. They were originally created to explore the contrast between strong silhouettes, shapes and block colour backgrounds.

Through experimentation using layers and opacity adjustments I became very interested with exploring how the block colours transformed into translucent colours. When combined together the opaque layers created a prism of rainbow colours. The scale and positioning of the images were adjusted to create alternative outcomes.

Compared to, ‘Brothers in Conversation’, these multiple images focus on the interaction between colours rather than the interaction and relationship between siblings or subjects. The silhouetted figures draw attention to shape and form, whereas the movement of the brothers creates texture and pattern.
